About the Event...

This is not your average golf tournament. Chip In for Carly’s Club is a unique golf marathon that challenges participants to play 100 holes of golf, all in one day. Golfers collect pledges to support year-round patient-care programs and critical pediatric cancer research through Carly’s Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Participants begin their 100-hole challenge following a shotgun start shortly after sunrise, and can take breaks for food and massages as they wish! Each golfer is paired up with one of our Carly’s Club members, who are pediatric patients at Roswell Park – we call them "Chip In Buddies." As the final rounds approach, the Chip In Buddies arrive at the course to cheer the golfers on and get them through that final stretch. After everyone has completed the 100-hole challenge, the golfers, their buddies and their families get to relax and enjoy a delicious meal at the “19th Hole Reception.”

Event History

Chip In for Carly’s Club was born from Stuart Scheff’s desire to do something meaningful for Carly’s Club — and his passion for golf. He decided to do the unthinkable: play 100 holes of golf in just one day. Playing solo his first year, Stuart raised $17,000 for pediatric cancer research and patient support programs through Carly’s Club at Roswell Park. In the years that followed, Stuart invited friends and colleagues to join him in this unique feat and each year, the event grows. This summer marks the 12th anniversary of this event. Since its inception, more than 80 golfers of various ages have taken the challenge and have collectively raised more than $870,000 for children and teens with cancer.

Testimonials

  • Stuart Scheff

    Event Founder and Co-Chair

I am so proud to have created an event that has helped so many kids and their families. What I didn't expect, was the profound supportive effect it had on the participants. The goal may be to complete 100 holes in a day, but the ultimate goal is to find a cure.
